Russ in his workshop
We recently heard that our friend and a fellow Hazel Tree artist, Russ Ensign, is battling cancer. He and his family are fighting back hard and they can use our help!
Please consider joining Russ and his support entourage on Saturday, 10/20, for an "night of art, music and philanthropy as we help Russ seek the treatment he needs to beat the hell outta cancer."
Russ is an amazing man and we ask you to please help if you can - either by attending the benefit, donating funds via this link, or donating a piece of art for the auction portion of that evening.
The benefit party will take place from 7-11pm, down in Canton at his studio/shop/warehouse/really cool space, Articulture Unlimited.
It is located at 720 2nd St. SE, Canton, OH 44707. If you've never been down to see Articulture Unlimited's studio...here's a perfect chance!
(Artists! Please help if you can by donating a piece for auction. Contact us for more info, we'll take care of getting donations down to Canton if you bring them to us. Please and thank you!)
If you don't know Russ Ensign by name, you may very well know him by his work in the world. He is very involved in Stark County's Project Rebuild, Inc., and organization that enrolls and employs at-risk students from various local high schools to teach them vocational skills in the construction trades. Russ takes these kids under his wing and teaches them at his studio/shop in Canton.
You may also know Russ as the artist at Hazel Tree that turns those old Akron tire company patterns into beautiful repurposed objects like mirrors, clocks, tables, and sculptures (ohhhh, THAT guy!) The images below are of Russ, his workshop and his art. For more about Russ and his work, here is a link to his website.
Thank you for reading and considering how you can help Russ! Here is a link to the facebook page for the event.
