Living With Art...the exhibition ran February 5 - April 5 at the Akron Art Museum.
Happy sunny Saturday! For those of you who asked for imagery from the 'Living With Art' exhibition because you weren't able to make it during the run of the exhibition, here you go!
Thank you to everyone who visited the exhibition while it was up at the museum and for the many comments and tweets and newspaper articles about it that you clipped from across the country and mailed to me!
It was an amazing experience and a career milestone for me, as I was able to furnish the entire exhibition with locally-made furniture and lighting! (See? It can be done...and beautifully!)
I was so honored to guest-curate and design this one-of-a-kind exhibition for the Akron Art Museum and I am grateful to the museum and its wonderful staff for making the experience so grand!
I absolutely loved putting a bedroom in the lobby! It made me smile every time I walked in...
The three pieces above the media cabinet on the left were all from The Dorothy and Herbert Vogel Collection: Fifty Works for Fifty States, a joint initiative of the Trustees of the Dorothy and Herbert Vogel Collection and the National Gallery of Art.
The Vogels were famous for living with art and I was so happy to include pieces from that collection into this exhibition to honor the way they lived and supported the arts.
A hawk...of course......
I loved these Larry Zox prints oh, so very much...
