I had the pleasure of designing a new office space for a company called Nanotronics Imaging. The company, that develops high-resolution software for microscopes, has offices in New York City, Silicon Valley, and now…Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
The conference room image shows the table that was fabricated around two gorgeous aluminum and brass doors that were salvaged from a bank in Beachwood Mall and was designed to accommodate modern day technology. The art on the walls are framed images of materials photographed using the company’s software. The images are: (left) cancer cells, (center) neurons, (right) silicon.
The resin windows built into the conference room/main area accent walls utilize some of the cut-off scraps left over from the material used in place of typical glass in all of the interior doors of the office. That specific color and pattern in the resin is “very Nanotronics”.
The high-top table you see there is actually a liquid table top. If you run your fingers over the top, the purple liquid inside moves around. You can’t walk by this table without stopping to play with it – exactly what we wanted.
